IZAAK WALTON'S COTTAGE / MUSEUM

Izaak Walton's Cottage is a seventeenth-century timber framed structure in Shallowford, StaffS. It was owned and lived in by Walton, and bequeathed to the local people. The historic building is now protected as a grade II listed building, and is currently operating as a museum about Walton, The Compleat Angler and fishing.

The Izaak Walton Country House Hotel is situated in Dovedale, Ashbourne,  Staffordshire in the Peak District. It is an AA rated 3 star, 2 Rosette 17th Century Country House Hotel offering wooden beams, open fires, comfortable bedrooms and views of outstanding natural beauty. Named after the Stafford-born author who famously fished the local River Dove.

IZAAK WALTON'S STATUE

Izaak Walton's Statue stands in his birth town of Stafford - in Victoria Park on the banks of the River Sow. Sculpted by Peter Walker - the bronze statue was unveiled in 2000. The lifesize figure originally held a sculpted fishing rod (now since 'removed' and replaced on occasion by a real fly rod).

IZAAK WALTON'S BUST

The Izaak Walton bust sits on a ledge in the north aisle of The Church of  Mary, St Mary's Gate in Stafford. It was in this church that Walton was baptized on Sept 21st, 1593. The marble sculpture was created by RC Bett in 1878 - after a public fund-raising drive paid for the artwork.

Memorial marble tablet in the London church where Walton was a churchwarden and vestryman between 1632-44. His first wife and seven children are buried in the churchyard; close to where his publisher, Richard Marriot, had his bookshop - where "The Compleat Angler" was sold.
Walton only lived a few yards away in Chancery Lane, which allowed him access to the River Thames and Lea to go fishing.
